David and I always watch CBS Sunday Morning and a couple of weeks ago they did a segment on cheesecakes and one really caught our eye. Cheesecakes made with wine! What a deliciously good idea and I wonder why someone has not done this before.
I spoke with Anna, the owner and creator of SaborAm Taste of Indulgence and found out she is a "local" girl in nearby Cashiers, North Carolina. In her own words she explains how she came up with the idea, "When I was with some friends in Manhattan, enjoying a memorable al fresco dining experience I noticed the chocolate shop across the street. Since the restaurant did not offer chocolates, I asked if I would be allowed to purchase some of the chocolates and bring them back to enjoy with our cheesecake and wine. Upon flying back to North Carolina she kept reflecting on that special dessert experience and what could be created to recapture a euphoric comfort, in creaminess and texture, something that would overwhelm one's palate and senses... After years of working on the idea and perfecting the recipes I came up with my luxury line of cheesecakes."
She searched and searched and decided on Mikkelson Pastry Shop in Naples, Florida to do the actual baking of her creations. Each cake weighs 5.5 pounds and serves 6-8 slices. They are now offered via Amazon and in the Neiman Marcus 2010 Holiday Catalog (Sabor Lux Cheesecake only)

The cheese cake was wonderful. Unlike Bob I like but don't usually love cheese cake, yours was the exception. Usually cheese cake has a millie texture that I find unappealing, yours was as smooth as silk. It was similar to the texture of a heavier moose but lighter than a pudding. The flavor was also wonderful. I loved the deep, dark chocolate topping and the slightly lemony taste of the cheese cake.
Suffice it to say, I am a big supporter.

The Pino Noir cake was incredible and I mean that! it was perfectly balanced and how the Pino Noir just laced it's way through all the ingredients excellent! I shared some with my managers they really loved it not only how well it tasted but the concept.If you ever want to pitch it to Whole Foods they showed interest my manager that is, again thank you and GOOD LUCK you have a culinary masterpiece on your hands.

I have tasted both the Ne Plus Ultra- Champagne Cheesecake and the Decadent "Diablo" Mocchanocino Cheesecake, and I have never tasted anything quite like them.
